Be aware of slow-moving farm equipment: Government of Saskatchewan

With spring seeding underway, local drivers are reminded to slow down around farm equipment. Saskatchewan released a statement advising drivers to watch for slow-moving farm machinery and other large equipment on highways.

“This is a busy time for the agricultural community and it is important to remain patient and pay close attention to avoid any collisions,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Lori Carr believes residents should allow extra travel time to ensure drivers safety.

Drivers are reminded to slow to 60km/hr when passing parked emergency and service vehicles, which includes tow trucks, police vehicles and ambulances.

“Whether it is a municipal road or provincial highway, you’ll see producers moving equipment from one field to another at this time of year,”  says Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities President Ray Orb.  “In addition, there are large graders and other slow-moving equipment on the road that will require some patience.”
