Lloydminster Reapers preparing for new rugby season

Rugby season is getting underway for teams across the league, including the Lloydminster Reapers. This year the team has moved training and home games to Armstrong Field at the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School. Their season opener will be in town against the Edmonton Pirates on Saturday, June 8 with a 2 p.m. kickoff.

The team says that while there are some young and old players coming out, the team says numbers are still looking slim. The team always looks for new guys and calls it a sport for all sizes. Prospective players can contact the team through reapersrugby.com, on Facebook, or join them for training on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. This year, the team’s new jerseys and kit have been sponsored by Spearhead Oilfield Services.
