Railway crossing, 50th Street turnaround construction begins in Kitscoty

Construction on the 50th Street north turnaround started this week in Kitscoty. The village released a statement advising residents that the project will take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

During construction, pedestrian and traffic access will be restricted at the turnaround and at the 50th Street entrance to Heritage Park. Residents are asked to use 56th Avenue to access the park.

This Friday, CN Railways will be repairing the centre crossing from 8 am to 5 pm. Access to homes the north side of 48th Avenue will have to be done so via the CN Lease Road.

CN Railways have notified the village that they will be working on specific railway crossings in June. On Thursday, construction crews repaired the crossing on Range Road 32. A date has not yet been set for the crossing on Highway 897.
