City offers condolences after passing of Lt.-Gov. Thomas Molloy

The flags at City Hall have been placed at half-mast to pay homage to Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor the Honourable W. Thomas Molloy. Premier Scott Moe shared with the province of Saskatchewan the sad news of the death of Lt.-Gov. Molloy on July 2, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mayor Gerald Aalbers sent a message of condolence to the Executive Council and Office of the Premier.

“It is with great sadness we received word of the passing of Lt.-Gov. Thomas Molloy,” says Aalbers. “On behalf of the City of Lloydminster and the residents of our community, we extend collective condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of His Honour and wish them all strength of spirit during this difficult time.”

Molloy served as the 22nd Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan since March 21, 2018. Books of condolence will be available for the public to sign at Government House, in the main lobby of the Legislative Building in Regina, and at City Hall in Saskatoon, beginning Wednesday, July 3. Online condolences can be sent through the official website of the Lieutenant Governor’s Office: www.ltgov.sk.ca.

Flags on all Government of Saskatchewan buildings will be placed at half-mast immediately and until sunset on the day of the funeral or memorial service, arrangements for which are still pending.
