Turtleford RCMP: Be on the lookout for two vehicles involved in assault

Mounties in Turtleford are asking residents in the area to keep an eye out for vehicles involved in a violent home invasion. The Turtleford RCMP received a report of the home invasion at a rural property southeast of Glaslyn, Sask. at about 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 18.

An adult male victim, who was the sole occupant of the home at the time of the incident, heard noises at the back door. As he approached the door, several men wearing masks forcefully entered the home. The victim says one of the men was carrying a gun. The victim was physically assaulted and suffered minor injuries. He did not require medical treatment.

The suspects then left the scene in the vehicle they arrived in and a second vehicle stolen from the property. Police ask the public to be on the lookout for a muddy black Jeep CJ two-door with wide tires and black rims, and a 1983 Dodge Ramcharger SUV with black coloured paint on the top and grey/brown coloured primer on the bottom. Chrome wheel covers are on the driver’s side and white rims on the back passenger side.

The stolen SUV was issued a Saskatchewan license plate of 213 LEY. However, police believe this license may have changed since the incident. If these vehicles are seen, Mounties say that you should not approach them as the occupants may be armed. Call 9-1-1 or the RCMP at 310-7267(RCMP) immediately.

Anyone with information about this incident to contact their local police service or RCMP detachment. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at saskcrimestoppers.com.
