Bordertowns annual Toy Run is preparing for ninth year

Bordertown Harley Owners Group in Lloydminster is hoping to break last years record of $69,000.

The annual Toy Run collects cash and toy donations for the day supports local charities. Donations are given to Big Brother Big Sister, KidSport Lloydminster, and the Community Youth Center. The Director of the Bordertown Hog Chapter, Murry Getty is looking forward to exceeding last years donations of 69,000.

“We’re really hoping to hit the 70 thousand mark this year. That will push us well past the half-million for the nine-year history of the Toy Run.  ”

If you aren’t a biker, you can still participate in the day. After the ride is over there will be a cabaret, and The Dirt Rich Band will be performing at Stockade Center. Murry is hoping for better weather this year as he says it snowed last year and about 30 people showed up.

“I’m expecting 200 riders, and it’ll be a great show going down Highway 16 about 12 noon.”

There is a $30 entrance fee which includes ride, banquet, and cabaret. The Toy Run is being held on Saturday, September 14th.
