Fourth Co-op Gas Bar to open in summer 2020

Lloydminster and District Co-op announced on Friday they will be building a new Gas Bar on the north end of the city.

Ground moving has started and it’s expected to see construction start within the next couple weeks. Co-op is partnering with Musgrave Development on this project. The new location is just over one acre and at 62 Street and 50 Avenue just off Highway 17 North.

The Gas Bar, with 8 pumps, will have both self and full-service. Propane will be available at this location.

The Lloydminster and District Co-op CEO, Leanne Hawes, says that this wouldn’t be possible without support from memberships, the Board of Directors, and the community.

“Our members have been talking to us certainly through our annual general meeting, and through some other avenues; that they were looking for us to consider an opportunity to expand our Gas Bar north and this opportunity came up and so we moved on it.”

Inside the new building it will have 2 retail spaces. Co-op is currently discussing a partnership, but nothing is certain yet. Customers can expect the fresh daily food that is served at other locations.

“One of the things we are really excited about is the job creation that this location will bring. We anticipate this gas bar to employ up to 15 people,” says Hawes.

They are wanting to provide the same experience at this new location as other Gas Bar and Retail Store. The reasoning to this location is to serve the north end of Lloydminster, as, the Industrial Area is located very close to this location.

The fourth Lloydminster and District Co-op Gas Bar and Retail Store is expected to be done summer of 2020.
