North Battleford home damaged in early morning shooting

Police continue to investigate after gunshots were fired at a home in the early morning in North Battleford.

As Battlefords RCMP were responding to a firearm complaint at 2 a.m. on October 22, they intercepted a vehicle driving away from the area at a high speed. They pursued the vehicle and found it stopped at a home where the driver was seen fleeing on foot.

The suspect was not caught but was identified and the vehicle and a gun were seized.

Mounties returned to the residence that was damaged in the shooting on the 1000 block of 105 Street and spoke with residents to ensure no one was injured. Officers seized an unlawfully stored firearm at the residence.

The investigation is ongoing.
