WPD Ambulance to hold car seat clinic

WPD Ambulance will be offering a free car seat clinic Thursday, October 22, at their headquarters.

Parents are encouraged to bring the kids to the clinic as car seat technicians on site will be making sure kids are being properly secured by their loved ones. EMT for WPD, Brian Olsen, says technicians will be checking for a variety of issues.

“[We’ll] be looking for the harness system, whether or not it’s strapped down properly,” Olsen said. “We’ll be checking the recall list, making sure there’s nothing that’s been recalled, checking for cracks, wear and tear, and then, if the parents brings their kid, we’ll put them in the car seat and make sure that they’re nice and snug, in the way that they should be.

The ambulances will also be on display for tours for the children.

The clinic runs from 8:30 a.m to 2 p.m at 4734 42 Street. Anyone who can’t make the clinic can phone WPD Ambulance at 306-825-7077, to book an appointment.
