City begins residential snow removal

The City of Lloydminster begins full-scale residential snow removal next week.

The City is asking for cooperation from residents and drivers as the operation begins in pink, yellow and blue zones on Feburary 3rd with orange and green zones to follow.

Residents will be notified through signage 48 hours before snow removal begins. The City asks that vehicles, garbage carts and other obstructions are removed from the street prior to crews arriving.

Snow will be plowed into windrows along the center of the street in most areas and are typically removed within 24 hours.

Drivers are asked to remain at least eight metres back from snow removal equipment. Throughout the snow removal process, parents are asked to keep children away from large equipment and snow piles.

The City will be scraping residential roads and hauling snow away Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each week. The City says a city-wide snow removal campaign could take up to four weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.
