Road closures and water restrictions in effect in Marwayne

A mandatory water restriction is in effect in the village of Marwayne and 3rd Street will be partially closed due to a leak in the waterline.

Alberta Central East Water Corporation found a leak in the transmission line in between Islay and Marwayne. ACE crews are assessing the issue and have shut off the water flow to the village.

Road access has been closed off from #206 3rd Street to 2nd Avenue.

Conditions on the water restriction are: a ban on all non-essential water usage, 25 per cent water reduction for all residents, 50 per cent water reduction for commercial and industrial consumers and the truck fill stations are closed to commercial and industrial consumers.

The truck fill stations are open for residents between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Work on the situation is ongoing and the village will be informing residents on any changes,
