New funding available for Lloydminster non-profits providing help during pandemic

Local non-profit organizations could be getting more funding to aid in their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government of Alberta is providing $30 million to municipalities, charities and non-profits helping vulnerable residents during the pandemic. The funding is a one-time opportunity distributed through the province.

Organizations in Lloydminster, Alberta and Saskatchewan, are eligible if they align with one or more of the following:

  • help people maintain independence, build resiliency and strengthen their ability to cope during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • provide supports to help sustain members in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • fund civil society organizations to deliver projects for vulnerable Albertans who are in need during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • coordinate services and programs to address the social well-being of vulnerable Albertans during the COVID-19 pandemic

Applications can be found on the City of Lloydminster website and must be submitted to Family and Community Support Services or placed in the City Hall mail slot.
