The lastest Saskatchewan Government update shows an equal amount of recoveries and new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
In their April 18th update, data shows that there are now 75 active cases out of 315 reported, with 234 recoveries. Five people in hospital; four receiving inpatient care and one person in the ICU. In the North Zone housing Lloydminster and area, there are seven verified active cases and 51 recoveries.
The SHA is currently working with Medical Health Officers and the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority to contact trace cases linked to travel between north-west Saskatchewan and Alberta. These cases could be connected to an outbreak at an Oilsands Facility in Fort McMurray.
Regional MHOs are urging cancelling all non-essential travel between north-west Saskatchewan and northern Alberta immediately and until further notice. Residents who have come back to North Saskatchewan from Northern Alberta are also strongly encouraged to self isolate for 14 days, monitoring for COVID 19 symptoms. They should call Healthlink 8-1-1 or their local health professional should these symptoms develop.
In total, 23,092 have been performed across the province, with 21,688 negative results.
