Four Recoveries, one new COVID case in Sask; Province allowing remote Will signing

The Province is reminding residents to not let the warmer weather allow them to slip on physical distancing.

As of April 20th, there is one new case of COVID-19 across Saskatchewan, four recoveries and four in hospital, one in the ICU in Regina. In the North Zone, housing Lloydminster and area, there are 7 active cases and 52 recoveries.

The province is reminding residents that as the weather warms up and they itch to be outside, they should continue to follow safe distance guidelines.

They say people should maintain a distance of two metres from other people, avoid shared public surfaces, keep children away from group settings, and Wash their hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds when returning home.

The province has also opened up the ability to work on someone’s Will & Testament remotely.

These regulations allow someone to sign their will, send the signed copy back to their lawyer, and acknowledge their signature remotely via video before their lawyer and a second witness.

The Government says this will allow health-at-risk people to manage important affairs.

The Regulations do not allow for the creation of an electronic will or the use of electronic signatures, however. Wills must be in writing and signed by the person making the will and both witnesses in ink.

More information can be found online at the Government’s website.
