In the Central zone, the total number of cases stays at 77 with 9,691 tests done in the zone. There is one active case in the MD of Wainwright and no changes in Lloydminster and the County of Vermilion River as both have one recovery.

The death-toll is now at 61 with two more deaths in the province including one resident of the JB Wood Continuing Care facility in High Prairie.

There has been 367 cases reported at continuing care facilities in the province. Provincial Public Health Officer, Dr. Deena Hinshaw says the province will be posting the location and facility name for active outbreaks at continuing care, long-term and acute care facilities. An outbreak is defined as two or more cases found in the same facility.

Twenty workers at the Kearl Lake oil sands project near Fort McMurray have tested positive for COVID-19. Hinshaw recommends all workers who are the camp before April 16 to self-isolate for 14 days as they may have been unknowingly exposed.

Dr. Hinshaw also recommends Albertans continue consulting with their physicians if they need medical attention.
