Pioneer Lodge & House confirms COVID-19 outbreak at facility

In a Facebook post, Pioneer Lodge says residents and family were informed that the Medical Health Officer of Saskatchewan, Dr. Saqib Sahab, declared an outbreak at the facility on April 20.

They say an outbreak is considered when there is at least one positive COVID-19 case in the same facility. Residents and staff who have close contact were sent home for a mandatory 14 day isolation. Staff will be monitored by health services during this time.

Further restrictions have been put in place for residents of the facility and all residents are expected to stay in their own suites for at least 14 days to ensure no one else contracts the virus. Residents will also be monitored by health services during this time. The outbreak restrictions will be reassessed after that time.

Pioneer Lodge says residents will not be able to leave the facility and stay with family until the outbreak has been lifted.

They say family members can still contact residents either through phone calls or video chats. Pioneer Lodge says they will be providing a calm and comfortable environment for residents during the outbreak.
