Alberta reports 33 new COVID-19 cases, four deaths

Out of 4,017 COVID-19 tests done in the past day in Alberta, 33 new positive cases were confirmed. No new cases were recorded in the AHS Central zone and the total number of cases stays at 99.

There are 926 active cases in the province and 5,710 recoveries. Of the active cases, 59 are currently in hospital and six of those are in intensive care.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw also announced four deaths in the Calgary zone. All four were residents at continuing care facilities. There have been 132 deaths in Alberta and Hinshaw says the average age of those who have died of COVID-19 is 82.

Over 225,000 tests have been processed in the province with eight per cent of them coming from the Central zone.
