Childcare, Faith services can resume June 8th in Saskatchewan

Both childcare and religious services can begin again in person on June 8th, but several changes are in place.

Childcare facilities can re-open on that day, provided they follow health and physical distancing guidelines. They are limited to a maximum of 15 children in the building or a set space in larger facilities.

Groups of children and the staff members assigned to them must stay together throughout the day and cannot mix with other groups. Staff should also remain with the same group. Groups must be within the same room or space at all times, including pickups and drop-offs, meal times, playtime and outdoor activities. Enhanced cleaning processes must also be in place.

Religious buildings can also resume services, provided they follow guidelines as well. The number of people in the building should be kept to one-third of normal occupancy, to a max of 30. Seating and arrangements must be kept within physical distancing boundaries and people should avoid using shared items.

In both cases, if someone is sick, they should stay home.

A full list of new guidelines can be found on the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
