Saskatchewan RCMP opening limited in-person services across province

The Saskatchewan RCMP says they have a set date for re-opening front-facing services across the province.

Starting August 4th, limited in-person services will resume at all Saskatchewan RCMP detachments across the province, but residents are urged to only come in person when absolutely necessary.  Police have identified three main priority services in this regard: Taking calls and reports from citizens, criminal record checks and collision reports.

People attending the detachment will see limits on the number of people permitted to wait in the lobby, increased sanitation and physical distancing markers directing the flow of foot traffic. Signs will also be put up if the detachment has limited hours of operation, and how to physically distance inside.  People must also stay home if they are sick.

If someone requires urgent fingerprinting, for employment, for example, they’ll be asked several screening questions to identify any signs or symptoms of sickness. If the request is approved, people will need to wear a mask through the process.

The Lloydminster RCMP detachment already re-opened  front-facing services on June 29th.
