One new COVID-19 case in the M.D. of Wainwright, two in the County of Verm. River

One new active COVID-19 case and two recoveries have been identified in the M.D of Wainwright after a spike in cases before the weekend.

As of August 9th, there are 46 active cases, 12 recoveries and one death in the M.D. of Wainwright, according to Alberta Health data.

An additional two cases have been recorded in the County of Vermilion River, bringing the total active cases to five. There are also seven recoveries in the county.

No new cases were reported in the County of Two Hills or the County of Minburn.

Across Alberta, a total of 257 new cases were recorded with 108 on August 7th, 101 on August 8th and 48 on August 9th. Over 25,000 tests were completed over the weekend. There are 1,090 active cases in the province and 10,384 cases have recovered.

In the Central zone, there are 157 active cases with 11 people being treated in hospital. There are also 380 recovered cases in the zone.
