114 new COVID-19 cases in Alberta, increase in active cases in the Central zone

Alberta Health Services is reporting 114 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta out of nearly 8,300 tests completed. As of September 1st, there are 1,403 active cases throughout the province with 50 people in the hospital and nine of them in intensive care.

A total of 12,535 cases are considered to be recovered and there were 242 fatalities related to COVID-19 in Alberta. A woman in her 60s in the South zone has died.

In the AHS Central zone, there are 32 active cases, an increase of five since the last update. There is one person being treated in hospital and 558 recovered cases.

There is one active case in the County of Vermilion River and two active cases in the M.D. of Wainwright.
