City opens 2020 winter guide, new digital registration portal

Lloydminster residents now have a way to look at what’s to do this winter season around the community.

The City has opened up the 2020 Winter Guide, which they say showcases over fifty activities to do at city facilities. These range from individual to some group activities for all ages that will work around COVID-19 guidelines. Some of the programs contained in the 34 pages of the digital-book are arts, culture or science events,  first aid and CPR learning and skating or swimming lessons.

Manager of Programming and Events Cindy Rekimowich says it was important for them to continue recreational activities for people in town and visitors, especially in times like these, as recreation is essential for mental and physical well-being.

The City adds that they’ve also opened a new “user-friendly portal” for registration online. Now, in addition to fixing navigation, the City says residents can also save time register multiple family members under one account. They also still have the option to call to register or visit in person.

Winter registration for city programs opens on December 1st.
