North Battleford search warrants result in significant drug and weapon seizures

North Battleford RCMP seized a large amount of drugs and several weapons following two separate searches of properties in the city.

Both search warrants were executed on November 21. The first was at a residence in the 1800 block of St. Laurent at around 4 a.m. RCMP says the Emergency Response Team entered the home without incident and three men and three women were arrested. A search found firearms, ammunition, brass knuckles, a knife, $500 in cash and about three grams of suspected crystal meth. All six people were interviewed and three were released without charges.

Forty-four year-old Sheldon Johnstone is facing five charges while 27 year-old Blake Johnstone is facing eight charges. Both will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on November 25. Eighteen-year-old Sierra Stone is facing outstanding warrant charges and will appear in court on February 1.

The second search was conducted at a property on the 10000 block of Scott Drive immediately following the first search. Police arrived at around 5:45 a.m. and two men and two women were arrested outside the residence without incident.

The search resulted in the seizure of about 9.8 lbs of pre packaged cocaine, 350 grams of marijuana, a gun with two loaded magazines and over $25,000 in cash. Two people were released without charges following an interview.

Kage Pooyak and Teshina Nehbexie are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges. Both are expected to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on December 29.

Mounties say the investigations are still ongoing.
