Onion Lake RCMP looking for four suspects after police chase

The Onion Lake RCMP say they’ve arrested three suspects and are looking for four more in connection to a police chase and several other potential charges.

Around 6:45 Pm on December 8th, Onion Lake RCMP was made aware of a police chase headed their way from Paradise Hill. The suspects were driving an allegedly stolen minivan, and police believed a wanted man was inside. Officers made several attempts to stop the vehicle, which was seen travelling first on Harland Road, then on the North Saskatchewan Bridge, before heading north on Highway 17.

The vehicle then turned east on a road off Highway 17, and seven total suspects got out, fleeing on foot. Officers also allegedly saw the man driving the van run off holding a gun.

At that time, police took three suspects, all from the Onion Lake, into custody. A search of the van also allegedly found two guns, ammunition, several edged weapons and drugs. The three suspects names have not been released.

There are four suspects still at large, whose names have not been determined by police at this time.  Several RCMP detachments have contained the area, Onion Lake RCMP and North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Section are still investigating, and residents should expect to see increased police presence for some time.

The remaining four suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. Instead, people should call 911, their local police detachment or CrimeStoppers.
