Drummer of Canadian band announces medical absence

Drummer of Canadian band, Billy Talent, is taking an indefinite break from the band.

Aaron Solowoniuk was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 15 years ago, and says it has never held him back from playing music or touring, but over the past 6 months, he’s relapsed. Yesterday, the drummer released a solemn video on the band’s YouTube channel announcing his inability to record on the band’s upcoming album.

Manager of the Lloydminster chapter of the MS Society, Lacey Flichel, says “symptoms vary from person to person and they can be really extreme or really mild and a lot of the time, it’s extreme fatigue, lack of coordination, weakness, tingling/imparied sensations, vision problems, bladder problems, cognitive impairment, and mood changes are some of the symptoms… so if he’s a drummer, I’m guessing that his coordination is probably an issue, as well as maybe some impaired sensations, and tingling.”

To get involved with the MS Society locally, contact the Lloydminster chapter regarding the upcoming Jayman Built MS Walk at Bud Miller Park.
