People in the Border City will now be able to visit indoors with others again.
The Saskatchewan Government has given the okay for indoor gatherings again, but still at smaller capacities. Effective March 9th, people will be able to have up to ten people in their homes again.
Gatherings will have to be kept to only two or three consistent households as well, so that the risk of COVID-19 transmission continues to be mitigated, and people should not join multiple COVID-19 bubbles.
They suggest people assess their COVID-19 risk before bringing people into their home. Some things to consider, they say, is whether or not the household their visiting has a senior living there, people working away from the house or children in school.
If possible transmission remains high, people should either consider another home to link up with or keep within their own household. In the cases of people 50 and older, health officials add that they should consider keeping contacts to the household only until they can get the vaccine.
All other COVID-19 guidelines should be followed as well.
Worship gatherings increasing as well
More people will be physically able to return to in-person prayer gatherings effective March 19th as well. Houses of worship will be allowed to hold up to 30 per cent of their fire code capacity, or 150 people, whichever is less.
All other COVID-19 rules still apply. Physical distancing between attendees needs to be maintained unless they’re from the same household. They also need to wear a mask at all times, including choir singers or performers. Clergy can remove their masks, but only at 3 feet away from patrons.
No food or drink can be served, and the Government adds that these exceptions do not apply to receptions or non-ceremonial gatherings.
Premier Scott Moe also announced Tuesday that they’ll be launching a self-booking vaccination website for residents, which they can do because of the increase in vaccine availability.
