The Saskatchewan government will again be extending public health orders for the next few weeks.
In his press conference on March 16th, Premier Scott Moe said that the current rules will be in place until April 5th, after which they will be re-evaluated by officials. No new restrictions have been added, however.
Currently, people are allowed to have ten people together for indoor gatherings, from up to three consistent homes. Outdoor gatherings remain at ten people as well, provided physical distancing can be maintained. Non-essential interprovincial travel continues to be strongly discouraged at this time.
It’s also still advised that people access their COVID-19 transmission risk and that of the household they are visiting before going. Things to think about include if the household looking to link up with has a senior living there, people working away from the house or children in school as possible transmission risks.
In the cases of people 50 and older, health officials add that they should consider keeping contacts within their own household until they can get the vaccine.
Worship gathering restrictions easings to go ahead on March 19th, except in Regina
Worship gatherings are also set to increase on the 19th on schedule, except within the city of Regina, which has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases and variants recently.
People in Lloydminster and area, however, will be able to attend worship ceremonies at 30 per cent of the facilities capacity or 150 people, whichever is less.
Attendees must maintain two meters of distance and everyone, including singers, performers or clergy must wear masks. The clergy can take them off when speaking a sermon, provided they are three meters away from everyone else. No food or drink can be served either, and this does not apply to non-ceremonial gatherings at all.
All existing rules for other businesses remain in place, which people can find on the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
The rules apply to the entirety of Lloydminster, as the whole city falls under the SHA’s re-opening plan.
