Lloydminster set to tee off golf season this weekend, weather permitting

Golfing season is set to begin in Lloydminster this weekend with the opening of the Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre.

Weather permitting, the 18-hole course will open on Saturday, April 17th. People will be able to book their tee times online or by calling the Pro Shop. People can reserve a session seven days in advance online, or up to four in advance by calling.

Walk on golf won’t be allowed right now, the LGCC says, due to COVID-19 rules.

The course will be following other COVID-19 guidelines as well, including the number of participants to eight, sanitizing driving range balls after every use and removing all unnecessary touchpoints.

Joel Turcotte, Director of Recreation and Cultural Services, says while everyone’s excited to get back on the links and they are happy to re-open, the LGCC asks for the ongoing support and understanding of enthusiasts and learners as they make a safe return to play.

The Pro Shop, open from 10 to 7, will be allowing four people, excluding staff, inside at one time, and will follow the guidelines for retailers as outlined by the Government of Saskatchewan.

The clubhouse restaurant, along with indoor and outdoor seating areas for food and beverage will be open as well, following their requirements under the same Saskatchewan guidelines.

People wanting more information on any of the LGCC operations can visit The City’s website.
