Lloydminster RCMP arrest suspect in death of Daxon Hornick-Schmidt

The Lloydminster RCMP says a suspect is in custody in connection with the death of Daxon Levi Hornick-Schmidt.

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit on was called in on April 17th after the 24-year-old man was found on a sidewalk on 50th Avenue, having passed away that day.

An autopsy by the the Saskatoon Office of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service found Schmidt’s cause of death was homicide.

On April 23rd, police arrested 35-year-old Lance Dwayne Littlewolfe, a North Battleford resident, and charged him with alleged second degree murder.

Following a judicial hearing, Littlewolfe was remanded into custody. He will next appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 26th.

The RCMP says that as the matter is now before the courts, they will not be providing further update.
