PWM Steelers here to stay

The verdict is in and Lloydminster will be a center for female Elite and Midget AAA hockey next season.

The fate of Lloydminster’s PWM Steelers had been hanging in the balance since January 1st when applications were due to Hockey Alberta from communities looking to host teams in the new “franchise model” for the divisions.

As of this past Friday, the centers that were given Midget AAA franchises were announced, including Lloydminster of course, as well as Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Okotoks, and St. Albert.

Additionally, these communities will also host Midget Elite and Bantam Elite teams.
