Edmonton Police detail a number of scenarios in their release and admonish residents not to submit personal information like Social Insurance Numbers and banking details unless there is certainty that the company actually exists.
Also, Lloydminster Police have about 80 fraud files since the beginning of the year with various circumstances and complexity. Lloydminster RCMP outline several recommendations including to redflag requests for cryptocurrencies and gift cards, as well as demands for immediate payments and money transfers.
