Lloydminster Bobcats name leaders on the ice

Four days to go to the season opener in the Border City barn and the Lloydminster Bobcats are introducing their leadership group and team captain for 2021-22.

Donning the Captain’s C in his third season with the team is Calgary native Chad MacLean who was previously Assistant Captain.

MacLean has played 112 games in the AJHL with 42 points and 275 penalty minutes. In the 2019-20 season he posted 13 goals and 13 assists while playing in 56 games.

Bobcats top brass have also appointed Chestermere native Tegan Skehar as Assistant Captain. The leadership group also includes Lloydminster products Ben Bygrove and Jayven Leslie both going into their third season as well as St. Albert native Tyson Kowaluk and from Calahoo, Tanner Fincaryk.

The Bobcats are tuning up to skate off in Bonnyville on Friday before bringing it home for the barn raiser this Saturday.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
