Vermilion RCMP investigating shooting

The Vermilion RCMP is investigating a shooting in the area.

Officers responded to call about a disturbance onĀ 47 Street and 50 Avenue shortly after midnight on September 24th.

Witnesses say three men were slamming on the door, before a loud noise was heard and the three took off in newer model black Dodge Ram 2500 with black wheels.

Around 12:30 that same night, a man arrived at the Vermilion Health Centre with a gun shot wound. He was taken to hospital in Edmonton to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

This incident is believed to have been targeted and it is not believed there is a risk to the public.

Vermilion RCMP with the assistance of St. Paul RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP, their local police department or CrimeStoppers.Ā
