Lloydminster Bobcats to participate in Alberta COVID Restriction Exemption Program

The Lloydminster Bobcats, along with the rest of the AJHL, will be participating in the Alberta COVID-19 Restrictions Exception Program.

The team announced Monday evening the new guidelines, which fans will need to be aware of before attending a ‘Cats game.

Anyone wanting to come to the games, the team says, will need to have a proof of COVID-19 vaccination, dated no earlier than two weeks before entering the building. People over 18 will need to have a government ID along with this.

Spectators will only need proof of one vaccine to start, but by October 25th, people must have two doses before coming in.

Alternatively, people coming to see a game at the Centennial Civic Centre can bring a privately-paid negative COVID-19 test, dated no less than 72 hours from the game. If a medical exemption is documented and from an accredited medical professional, visitors can use that as well.

When someone is visiting the CCC, they’ll need to be masked at any time they’re not eating or drinking.

The Lloydminster Bobcats say that by following these guidelines, created by the Alberta government but also adapting to the combination of the City of Lloydminster and Saskatchewan Government’s Regulations going into place on October 1st, it will allow them to have full stands and allow the team to play in a full season.

In their release, The Bobcats also asked for people to be patient and show understanding to not just them but all non-profits and businesses required to enforce this policy, as they continue to navigate a challenging time.
