Lloydminster Christmas Craft Fair this weekend

Billed as the largest Christmas market in the Midwest, the 33rd Annual Lloydminster Christmas Craft Fair & Chamber Expo is on at the Lloyd Exhibition this weekend.

From Friday November 19th at 10 a.m. to Sunday November 21st at 4 pm., residents will have nearly 300 local options to choose from as they seek to fulfil the wish list for the season says event organizer Alice Pattison.

“There’s lots of new vendors. Lots of great vendors. We got some old vendors coming back. Lots of unique shopping ideas. Lots of things to see and lots of things to buy. Stuff you can buy for that hard-to-buy person on your list. There’s something there for everyone.”

Pattison says the event will be following the COVID health protocols.

“We are following the Saskatchewan Health Authority guidelines. So you either have to be doubled vaccinated with proof of double vaccination, or else have a negative COVID test. We do have somebody at this show doing COVID tests for $45 a test and you will have to be wearing a mask all the way through.”

Pattison also listed several staples like wood carving and signs, jewelry, jams, jellies and Christmas baking, clothing and home-based businesses that will have something special for everyone.

Admission is $7. Children under-12 get in for free. The event is organized by the Border City Farmers Market and the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
