97th Annual Pride of the Prairies Bull Show and Sale brings in $150,000 more than last year

The Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association’s 97th Annual Pride of the Prairies Bull Show and Sale has been a strong event for the Midwest area once again.

Top quality bulls brought a large crowd to the sale, making it a tremendous success, according to the Association. A total of 126 bulls were sold for an average of $4,719 and a Gross Sale of $594,650. The overall total for sales is up from last year’s event. While 2015’s 96th annual Pride of the Prairies saw the average sale price on a bull go for over $200 more, at $4,977, this year’s Gross Sales amount was over $150,000 more than in 2015.

The highest selling bull was our Grand Champion Black Angus Halter Bull exhibited by Jayden and Jaxon Payne of Lloydminster, SK. The bull sold for $9,000 to Duriez Ranching of Frenchman Butte, SK.

The Association expresses its congratulations to all consignors and buyers.
