Lloydminster 18-year-old convicted for drug trafficking

A Lloydminster-native has been convicted on multiple charges following several incidents dating back to last November.
On November 26th, 2015, 18-year-old, Rawson Franke, was arrested for trafficking Fentanyl in town, in addition to a number of other charges for breaching court imposed conditions.
Then, on February 25th of this year, after being released from custody and awaiting trial, Franke was again arrested for charges including Possession of Cocaine and Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a firearm for the Purpose of Trafficking.
This week, on March 8th, Franke was convicted of trafficking Fentanyl, receiving a sentence of 3 years in prison for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, 4 years for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, 2 years for Possession of a Restricted Firearm without a licence, and another 3 years for Failing to Comply with Conditions.  All sentences are set to be served concurrently.
“This sentence shows the serious nature of trafficking Fentanyl, and the emphasis that the RCMP in Lloydminster is placing on the persons responsible for its sales,” says RCMP Constable, Grant Kirzinger.
