Edgerton Ag Society gets matching funds for splash park

Edgerton is getting excited for the snow to melt off as they are to start the build on their community splash park.

Organizers have been fundraising for the last little while and are getting their efforts matched with provincial funding.

This as the government of Alberta is investing in area non-profits in their aim to support community activities and facilities.

The Edgerton Agricultural Society has received $116,631 for site construction of its splash park. The funding is through the Community Facility Enhancement Program.

Garth Rowswell, MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright sees the importance of these spaces to strengthen relationships in Alberta communities.

“The Edgerton community splash park is a centre for creativity and a hub for people who truly want to make a difference. This funding will help promote a safe place to build those connections.”

Organizers say they will start construction about April 1st with a targeted completion in May, weather permitting.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
