Lloydminster Rescue called to plane crash

Lloydminster Rescue was called to a plane crash in Marwayne on Saturday. Kitscoty RCMP received a call from a plane crash involving a float plane, 35 kilometres northwest of Lloydminster. The plane had made a refueling stop and was attempting to take off. The wind died as the plane was attempting takeoff, causing it to lose lift and the wing to hit the water at an angle. The plane cartwheeled and landed upside down in the water. The pilot and passenger were able to escape the plane and swim to shore. They were uninjured in the crash. The crash has been referred to the Transport Safety Board to follow up.
