Victim of stabbing dead in Frog Lake

RCMP are investigating the death of a man from Frog Lake.

On April 12th, at approximately 9:25 p.m., members from the Elk Point RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a stabbing, which occurred on the Frog Lake First Nation. Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel located the 34-year-old male victim, but he was pronounced dead by EMS upon arrival at the scene.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit from Edmonton has assumed the investigation and are working with members from Elk Point RCMP. After the initial stages of the investigation a 21-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody in relation to the incident. It has determined that the two men knew one another.  Police have notified the family of the victim.

At this time, additional details are not available, but updates will be provided as new information is confirmed.
