Lloyd Cooperative cardlock coming to Maidstone area

This spring, the Lloydminster Co-operative will break ground on a build for a cardlock just west of Maidstone in the vicinity of the Highway 16- Highway 21 south intersection.

Petroleum manager Brandy Nelson says with an investment of about $3 million, they plan to be operational by late 2023 with an expanded range of products.

“A lot of our cardlocks – some of the older ones don’t have all the products available particularly D.E.F and premium gasoline. So this newest cardlock will have all petroleum products available.”

Apart from premium gas and diesel exhaust fluid or DEF, the product line will include regular gasoline, dyed diesel and clear diesel. Nelson adds the facility will be big enough to accommodate commercial semi trucks as well as farm equipment.

Nelson indicated that the membership has been asking for the premium gas option at their cardlocks and the Lloyd Co-op fuel centre on the west side of the Border City will have this product as well in the spring.

The expansion will bring the total to four Lloyd Co-op cardlock operations around the region.

“It’s been a little bit of a process, but we are finally excited to be able to provide the service to our members because it’s been requested for quite some time. So we are really excited to expand our cardlock network – being one of the largest in Canada.”

Nelson says what matters most is “local investment in quality products and services
to help make our Co-op members’ lives better.”

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
