Members of Alberta’s Integrated Traffic Units are urging drivers to drive safely during the Labour Day Long Weekend. The ITU, which is made up of members of the RCMP and Alberta Traffic Sherriffs, say motorists can expect to see an increased presence of officers on Alberta highways to enforce traffic laws. The traffic units have 4 priorities – impaired driving, distracted driving, use of seatbelts, and speeding. The ITU also says that long weekends experience a higher than normal traffic level, and that travellers should plan accordingly.
