Naloxone kits available at City facilities

Nasal spray naloxone kits are now available for emergency use at 14 City of Lloydminster facilities.

City officials say the kits are at:

  • Archie Miller Arena, seasonally (4715 57 Avenue)
  • Bioclean Aquatic Centre (2902 59 Avenue)
  • Centennial Civic Centre (5405 49 Avenue)
  • City Hall (4420 50 Avenue)
  • Fire Station No. 1 (3752 47 Street)
  • Lloydminster Airport (8301 75 Street NW)
  • Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre (4706 54 Street)
  • Lloydminster Museum + Archives (4207 44 Street)
  • Lloydminster Operations Centre (6623 52 Street)
  • Outdoor Pool, seasonally (4713 57 Avenue)
  • Russ Robertson Arena, seasonally (5105 34 Street)
  • Sanitary Landfill (North of 67 Street on 40 Avenue)
  • Servus Sports Centre (5202 12 Street)
  • Weaver Heritage Park, seasonally (4515 44 Street)

Each naloxone kit contains instructions for use, gloves, and two doses of naloxone nasal spray. Where possible, the kits have been placed with the automated external defibrillator (AED) stations. In other restricted areas, it can be provided by request.

Naloxone is a medication that can temporarily stop poisoning caused by opioid drugs like heroin, morphine, fentanyl, methadone, codeine, and other drugs that are unknowingly contaminated with opioids. Recognizing opioid poisoning symptoms, calling 911, and administering naloxone quickly can prevent illness.

Additionally, free Naloxone kits are available at other locations listed on Saskatchewan.ca or AlbertaHealthServices.ca.
