Theft at business near Unity

Unity RCMP are investigating a theft that occurred this week.
On Tuesday, April 19th, around 6:00 a.m., a business owner in the Town of Landis was caught off guard by a man entering the business wearing a mask. It turned out that the man was also armed with a piece of metal and demanded cash from the business’ registers. Two female accomplices entered the business wearing masks as well and the business owner turned over the cash to the suspects.
After searching the business, the trio then forced the owner to let them into the attached residence where they located and stole the victim’s hunting rifle. Suspects proceeded to restrain the victim and steal a large quantity of liquor from the business before leaving the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured in the incident and was later able to get free and call 9-1-1.
The investigation is ongoing; Unity RCMP are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have in regards to this crime. The stolen vehicle is a grey 2007 GMA Sierra 1500 with Saskatchewan license plate # 717 IUI.
If you see the suspect vehicle, do not approach it, as RCMP remind that a firearm was take in the robbery. If you see the vehicle or have any information, contact the Unity RCMP Detachment at 306-228-6300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
