Fatal Collision on Rainy Roads North of Lloydminster

Early this morning, Maidstone and Onion Lake RCMP were forced to close off a 28KM stretch of Highway 17 after the report of a two vehicle collision between Onion Lake and the Alcurve turnoff.

EMS and WPD responded on scene to the collision. A 16 year old male who was a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.

The road remained closed for several hours after a traffic analyst arrived to investigate. The road has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing, with no further details available at this time.
