Turtleford RCMP investigate car-jacking, seek information on male-female duo

Police in Turtleford are seeking information after a male and female duo are reported to have stolen a vehicle after the driver stopped to help.

On Monday Oct. 23 at about 7 a.m., police say the driver was travelling on Highway 796 by Crystal Bay when they were flagged down by a woman.

Police say the female suspect pointed a gun at the driver and then the male suspect assaulted the driver who sustained minor injuries. The duo took off in the driver’s vehicle which is a red 2016 Dodge Journey with Saskatchewan license plate 740 LEA and a dark blue SUV with gold trim, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, say police.

The female suspect is described as having her hair up, possibly in a bun. The male suspect is described as having a thin build and was wearing a ball cap.

Anyone with information on these suspects or vehicles is asked to call the nearest police station at 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
