Several local charities are to benefit from the efforts of this year’s Bordertown H.O.G. Toy Run with organizers saying the Lloydminster community pitched in some $75,000.
The Sep. 9 event saw about 170 motorcycle lovers traverse the region heading up to areas like Turtleford and wrapping the day with a dinner and dance.
“We are fortunate with what we do. There are a lot of families out there that are not as fortunate. It’s great to raise that kind of money and try to spread it out and make some people’s lives better,” says Chris Leibel, co-chair of the Bordertown Toy Run.
The list of recipients reads:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters – $13,950
- Kidsport – $12,780
- Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services – $11,822.50
- Lloydminster Community Youth Centre – $11,600
- The Goat’s Christmas Wish – $5,185.37
- LCSD breakfast program – $5,000
