The Bea Fisher Bottle Depot is temporarily closed for an automation upgrade at its facility.
Officials say the process for customers will remain the same, but the internal sorting will see some changes with automation of the sorting, counting, and bagging using new equipment.
Most of the bottles and cans will be done with the new process, but staff will still be doing some sorting manually before the final cargo is shipped for recycling.
Officials see improvements as faster processing times for customers, reduced risk to staff, and more employment opportunities for individuals at Bea Fisher.
The depot is expected to be closed for about a week while the new equipment is installed and tested.
