The gods of curling are getting prepped to visit Lloydminster for the Astec Safety Curling Challenge presented by Wild Rows Pump and Compression.
The action at the Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre begins on Thursday, Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to the final four Championship on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m.
Over four days of the Triple Knockout bonspiel, Teams Bottcher, Retornaz, Schwaller, McEwen, Schneider, Sluchinski, Gushue, Koe, Dunstone, Mouat, Edin, among others along with locals de Coninck-Smith and Armstrong will take to the ice ahead of Sunday’s final.
Also happening is the Musgrave Agencies Junior Curling Session hosted by Team Bottcher,
Curling Kids Day in conjunction with the local school division, musical entertainment, a
special artist challenge event, and a silent auction of curling memorabilia.
The Lloydminster Exhibition will lead the concession services at the event and is hosting the Synergy Credit Union family-friendly free entertainment at the Lloyd Ex on Friday, Jan. 12, and Saturday, Jan. 13.
