The Lakeland College Apex Automation Rustlers Women’s Hockey team have advanced to the playoff round in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, ACAC. The Lloydminster-based team in its second year topped the league with 62 points and will play the SAIT Trojans starting Friday, Mar. 1.
The Trojans finished fourth in the standings and will face the Rustlers on home ice at the Russ Robertson Arena on Friday and Saturday with a possible game three if needed on Sunday.
Friday and Saturday will have a 7 p.m. puck drop with a 3:30 p.m. start if the Trojans can stretch the contest to Sunday.
Meanwhile, the other semi-final match-up will see the NAIT Ooks contest against the second-place finishers, Red Deer Polytechnic.
The championship round will be a best 3 of 5 game series from March 8 – 17.
